Why see Primus?

Primus Hit The Road!

The ever-undefinable Primus have a huge 2025 ahead of them as they set out on the Onward and Upward Summer tour! Composed of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry "Ler" LaLonde, and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander, Primus has been pushing boundaries for nearly 40 years.

The band started as an underground appearance in San Francisco and as their fanbase grew rapidly, so did they. Releasing platinum and gold albums, Primus has toured with some of the biggest names in rock.

Support from Ty Seagull (July 5 - 21 and August 6) and MonoNeon (July 22 - August 2)

OUTSTANDING!!!

My favorite Rush album is A Farewell To Kings, and I have always wanted to see Primus. It was supposed to be outside by the river but it was too cold, so they moved it into the Five. (Yeah, I know it's the "Aliant Powerhouse now, but it will ALWAYS be the "Five" for Five Season's Center to the old guard) Small crowd, GREAT sound, darkly lit but that was OK. A Primus set ("Tommy the Cat! Thanks guys!) and then the Rush. Les admitted he couldn't sing like the Ged and NO ONE CARED Perfection! Nice razzing us over our love of all things pork as well. I admit I don't recall who opened, but I liked em! Also, if you read this, Thank you Les for your lovely tribute to "The Professor" in your bar. I'm 63 years old and I wept. ... Read more

Weather Can't Stop A Great Show

A big screen of synchronized video magic played with the music delivering the complete experience! Though Primus is not Rush - they did a very good rendition of the album which all in attendance thoroughly enjoyed. I for one (A Primus concert virgin) - can't wait for my next Primus Show! ... Primus Review

Very good show, especially the Rush tribute. Would have been nice to see the Primus faces, or even their instruments…but no spot lights were used. Why? Wind? No help? Deliberate? Also, Freedom Hill…install some wind barriers. We were under the middle of the Pavilion and still got drenched ... Read more
